Music & Mythology: Stories of Transformation
Anton and Laura will guide us in exploring three fascinating, transformative mythologies from diverse cultural traditions and in considering how aspects of these myths may play out in our own spiritual lives. In an entertaining Native American tale from northern California, Coyote goes on a vision quest to Mount Shasta and encounters some surprising truths. From Celtic seas, a Scottish mermaid shows us some identifiable stages that define transformative experience, while learning the strengths of surrender into wholeness.
Finally, through a practice of conscious transformation originating in the Tibetan Buddhist utpattikrama, we will recreate the universe from a point of light as a three-dimensional mandala of universal compassion! Our journey into these mythological realms will be enhanced and deepened by integrated music related to each of the stories.
